On the coast of Sydney, New South Wales, stands a carefully renovated and extended residence, Pacific House. Originally a concrete-framed cliffside residence built in the 1990s, Alexander & CO. Architects completely remodeled it, transforming it into a welcoming residence that combines multiple styles and meets the needs of modern family living.

在悉尼新南威尔士州的海岸边，矗立着一座经过精心改造与扩建的住宅 ——Pacific House。它原本是一栋建于 20 世纪 90 年代的混凝土框架悬崖边住宅，Alexander & CO. 建筑事务所对其进行了全方位的重塑，将其转变为一个既融合多种风格，又满足现代家庭生活需求的温馨住所。

From the outside, Pacific House's exterior design combines contemporary and neoclassical elements. The white and textured facade is like a pure canvas, which contrasts sharply with the lush and flowing green plants, creating a fresh and natural atmosphere visually. The building retains the original concrete structure foundation, while adding soft curved elements, such as the door in the viewing corner is designed to be curved, making the overall building look more agile and friendly, as if it has drawn inspiration from the Mediterranean coast. Surrounded by lush green plants, it has become a charming building unit.

从室外看，Pacific House 的外观设计融合了当代与新古典主义元素。白色且富有质感的外立面，宛如一幅纯净的画布，与葱郁流动的绿色植物形成鲜明对比，在视觉上营造出清新、自然的氛围。建筑保留了原有混凝土结构的基础，同时增添了柔和的曲线元素，比如观景角落的门被设计成弧形，让建筑整体看起来更加灵动、亲切，仿佛是从地中海沿岸汲取了灵感，在繁茂绿植的环绕下，成为一座充满魅力的建筑单体。

In order to make better use of the surrounding environment, many outdoor facilities were added to the building. The swimming pool is cleverly placed in the excavation of the old driveway, and the breakfast corner is inspired by 'P&O' and overlooks the entire pool, becoming a unique highlight in the neoclassical layout. Along the facade of the building, there are terraces, gardens, balconies and edge areas planted with green plants, allowing the building and nature to penetrate each other, as if hidden in the garden. These outdoor spaces not only enrich the living scenes of the residents, but also cleverly extend indoor life to the outdoors, allowing people to fully enjoy the sunshine and beautiful scenery of the coast.

为了更好地利用周边环境，建筑增加了许多户外设施。游泳池被巧妙地安置在旧车道的挖掘处，早餐角则以 “P&O” 为灵感打造，能够俯瞰整个泳池，成为新古典主义布局中的一个独特亮点。沿着建筑的外立面，分布着露台、花园、阳台以及种植着绿植的边缘区域，让建筑与自然相互渗透，仿佛隐匿于花园之中。这些户外空间不仅丰富了居住者的生活场景，还巧妙地将室内生活延伸到室外，使人们能尽情享受海岸边的阳光与美景。

Walking into the room, due to the limitation of ceiling height, the designer focused on the decorative details and ceiling design. New steel beams support larger concrete openings. In order to make the steel beams coordinate with the overall style, their surface is wrapped with wood to make them look more natural and warm. The interior space layout is compact and reasonable. The original masonry walls limit the flexibility of the space, but the designer cleverly copes with it by carefully planning the room size and geometry, so that each functional area can meet the daily use needs while maintaining the fluidity of the space.

走进室内，由于天花板高度的限制，设计师将重点放在了装饰细节和天花板设计上。新的钢梁支撑起更大的混凝土开口，为了让钢梁与整体风格协调，其表面包裹着木材，使其看起来更加自然、温暖。室内空间布局紧凑合理，原有的砖石墙限制了空间的灵活性，但设计师巧妙应对，通过精心规划房间尺寸和几何形状，让各个功能区既满足日常使用需求，又保持了空间的流畅性。

The overall color matching is based on rich textures and single tones, creating a simple yet elegant atmosphere. This color selection not only conforms to contemporary aesthetics, but also echoes the overall style of the building, making the interior full of a warm atmosphere of life. In the decorative details of each room, we can see the echo of the owner's European cultural origins and the consideration of the practicality of family life. For example, the layout of the living room is suitable for family gatherings and can enjoy the beautiful scenery outside; the design of the kitchen fully considers the convenience of cooking and communication, and is interconnected with the restaurant and garden, making the cooking process full of fun.

整体的色彩搭配以丰富的质感和偏单一的色调为主，营造出简洁而不失高雅的氛围。这种色调选择既符合当代审美，又与建筑的整体风格相呼应，让室内充满了温馨的生活气息。在各个房间的装饰细节上，都能看到对业主欧洲文化起源的呼应，以及对家庭生活实用性的考量。例如，客厅的布置既适合家人聚会，又能欣赏到室外的美景；厨房的设计充分考虑了烹饪和交流的便利性，与餐厅、花园相互连通，让烹饪过程也充满乐趣。

The interior and exterior decoration design of Pacific House fully considers the needs of the owner and the characteristics of the site. It successfully combines contemporary design concepts, neoclassical elements and the owner's personal story, while overcoming many challenges such as structure, climate, and supply chain. This house not only achieves efficient use of space, but also creates a comfortable, beautiful and culturally rich living environment, allowing residents to enjoy the convenience of modern life while also feeling the charm of history and nature, becoming a unique landscape on the coastline.
